This is a 1877 $2.50 LIBERTY GOLD PCGS MS-61 PL, RARE! ONLY 1,632 MINTAGE, PROOFLIKE, POP 2!. One of the rarest and lowest mintage $2.50 Liberties in the entire series. Only about 25 Mint State examples are believed to have survived. This one, graded MS-61 and awarded a PROOFLIKE designation, has strongly mirrored fields and very minimal in the way of marks. Rich gold color, and a clean portrait make this example look fully choice at first inspection. Only some light friction in the fields serving as any limiter on grade. Population of just 2 coins, with only one finer in prooflike, and only a handful higher mint states of any type.
