Description
This is a 1896 BRYAN SO-CALLED DOLLAR, TIFFANY & CO, 2-SIDED, HK-779, S-3; NGC MS-63-RARE! These satirical pieces were produced in silver by both Gorham and Tiffany (both prominent silversmiths of the period), the latter being both the scarcer and more desirable variety. They were given away (seldom) and sold (more frequently) at political rallies during the 1896 Presidential campaign. This is one of the dual sided Tiffany varieties, with the earliest pieces struck being uniface. Shorenstein notes this variety as “rare”. It is the first that we have owned in over a decade. NGC’s MS-63 grade assignment ranks it in the condition census. Here is a wonderful historical artifact that is high-grade, rare and affordable. Don’t let it get away, as it may be many years before we see another! Our commitment is to provide you with quality coins and collectibles at the best possible prices. This piece is no exception. Please note, the coin and collectibles markets do fluctuate, and prices occasionally will change. In this rare circumstance, we will contact you first to verify your order.
