Description
This is a KEY 1916 STANDING LIBERTY 25c, ANACS VF-30, VERY OLD HOLDER, BOLD DATE & DETAILS. We will be the first to tell you from experience that there are some truly NASTY 1916 SL 25c in all 3 services’ holders. For whatever reason, the grading services tend to have a tolerance for softly struck dates, deep scratches, prominent marks, old cleanings and other deficiencies not normally deemed gradable. We have noticed the same tendency with 1893-S Morgan $1s, so maybe it has something to do with the services wanting to house key dates in their respective holders…This all makes finding an example like the present coin that much more of a pleasant experience. This piece exhibits light grey coloration, a very well struck date, and borders on XF details. Judging from the holder, this coin was probably graded in the mid to late 1990s reflecting the much more conservative grading standards of that period. With the ANA World’s Fair of Money on the immediate horizon, we are fairly certain that this piece won’t last. Our commitment is to provide you with quality coins and collectibles at the best possible prices. This piece is no exception. Please note, the coin and collectibles markets do fluctuate, and prices occasionally will change. In this rare circumstance, we will contact you first to verify your order.
