This is a (1790s) AE MEDAL WASHINGTON-SUCCESS LG PLAIN EDGE – PCGS XF-40. These medals were issued in George Washington’s lifetime, commemorating his achievements. They are believed to have been issued around his second inauguration in 1793. The obverse features the bust of George Washington and his name, while the reverse features the “Eye of Providence, with 15 rays and stars for the States and the legend “SUCCESS TO THE UNITED STATES.” These are great pieces to own, as they are very affordable for a scarce piece of period-issue Washingtonia.
