Description
This is a 1870-S $10 LIBERTY GOLD EAGLE – PCGS AU-50, RARE SAN FRANCISCO EAGLE! 80+ KNOWN! From a tiny original mintage of 8,000, only about 80-100 1870 San Francisco $10s are known to exists in all grade. Most are well circulated with AU being the essential top of the scale, as both PCGS and NGC have combined to grade only a single Mint State specimen, a lone PCGS MS-61 valued at approximately $80,000. This piece, conservatively graded AU-50, has attractive deep orange gold peripheries with lighter centers, is well-struck and has ample mint luster for an AU-50. Given how close to the top of the scale this 1870-S is grade-wise, this coin feels undervalued in today’s market. Don’t miss out! Our commitment is to provide you with quality coins and collectibles at the best possible prices. This piece is no exception. Please note, the coin and collectibles markets do fluctuate, and prices occasionally will change. In this rare circumstance, we will contact you first to verify your order.
