This is a 1903 JOHN WEAVER-TEDDY ROOSEVELT (ENDORSED) MAYORIAL 3 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ PAPER RIBBON, W/ A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF TR IN HIS ROUGH RIDER UNIFORM CARRYING AMERICAN FLAG-NR MINT. TR WAS A STRONG SUPPORTER OF JOHN WEAVER, AND ATTACHED HIS ENDORSEMENT TO HIS MAYORIAL CAMPAIGN. IN THE LATE 19th AND EARLY 20th CENTURIES, MAYORS OF LARGE CITIES WERE SOME OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL & POWERFUL POLITICIANS IN THE COUNTRY. THERE ARE TWO MINOR CREASES IN THIS ITEM, WHICH IS OTHERWISE BRIGHT, GRAPHIC AND MINT. WE RECENTLY SOLD ONE OF THESE IN SILK (WHICH IS VERY SCARCE).
