This is a ca 1780s GEORGE WASHINGTON PORCELIN/BRASS CERAMIC CURTAIN TIE-BACK; BRIGHT & EXC. These tiebacks were used as a political endorsement of General Washington during his presidency. This one is bright and excellent w/ vivid colors and no cracks or crazing. The back post is missing like many, and does not detract in any way from the display aspect or the historical significance of this period George Washington piece.
